Texas Vein Experts looks to meet the needs of patients concerning vein health, comfort, and appearance. Dr. Scott Powell, Dr. Denny Thomas, and Physician Assistant Justin Patten, offer a range of treatments and procedures to improve vein conditions safely. Our team consists of highly trained venous specialists that diagnosed and treated venous diseases, including venous reflux using minimally-invasive techniques for more than ten years.
Dr. Scott Powell, MD​​

Dr. Scott Powell, MD​

Is a graduate of UTMB medical school. He did a five-year surgical residency at the University of Florida, and is a board certified general surgeon. He has practiced in Texas since 2003, and since 2011 has specialized in the treatment of venous disorders.
He is one of the most experienced physicians in Texas that treats venous disease. He was one of the first in DFW to use VenasealTM (a new super glue for veins), and he is still one of the few to offer this service. Dr. Powell has taught colleges and peers about venous disease in national conferences and has served as a physician trainer. If you are looking for an expert in venous disease, look no further.
Justin Patten

Justin Patten, MPAS, PA-C

Is a graduate of Texas A&M University and UNT Health Science Center where he earned a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Since graduating in 2014, he has specialized in orthopedic pain management and, more importantly, the treatment of venous insufficiency.
In early 2017, he joined Texas Vein Experts. Since then Justin has immersed himself in the world of venous disease and has quickly become one of the more experienced PA’s in north Texas who treat venous disease. He gives full focus and attention to his patients and their outcomes are incredible.
Matheson Taylor, PA-C

Matheson Taylor, PA-C

Matheson Taylor graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. She worked as a medical assistant at the University of Orthopedic Surgeons in Knoxville, Tennessee, before pursuing a Master’s degree. She holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Matheson is devoted to helping patients improve their quality of life at Texas Vein Experts.

Bradley Howe

Bradley Howe, PA-C

Bradley Howe graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He then worked in New Orleans as an EMT and Paramedic for 4 years before pursuing his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After working for a local Emergency Department in Birmingham, AL, he found a passion for treating underlying medical issues related to venous insufficiency. Bradley looks forward to delivering quality care to patients of Texas Vein Experts.

Courtney Thompson AGACNP-BC

Courtney Thompson is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing. She received her Master’s of Science degree as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Walden University. In addition to working as a Nurse Practitioner, she also teaches nursing courses as an adjunct professor. She has worked in the healthcare field for over 17 years and truly loves helping people. Which is also evident in her role as a sustainer member of the Junior League of Fort Worth, where she is proud to help her community grow and thrive.
