Texas Vein Experts looks to meet the needs of patients with respect to vein health, comfort, and appearance. Dr. Scott Powell, Physician Assistant Justin Patten, and Physician Assistant Samantha Steinis offer a range of treatments and procedures to safely achieve the desired improvement in vein conditions.  Our team consists of highly trained venous specialists that diagnose and treat venous diseases including venous reflux using minimally-invasive techniques for more than 10 years.

Dr Scott Powell

Dr. Scott Powell, MD​

Is a graduate of UTMB medical school. He did a five-year surgical residency at the University of Florida, and is a board certified general surgeon. He has practiced in Texas since 2003, and since 2011 has specialized in the treatment of venous disorders.

He is one of the most experienced physicians in Texas that treats venous disease. He was one of the first in DFW to use VenasealTM (a new super glue for veins), and he is still one of the few to offer this service. Dr. Powell has taught colleges and peers about venous disease in national conferences and has served as a physician trainer. If you are looking for an expert in venous disease, look no further.

Dr Justin Patten

Justin Patten, MPAS, PA-C

Is a graduate of Texas A&M University and UNT Health Science Center where he earned a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Since graduating in 2014, he has specialized in orthopedic pain management and, more importantly, the treatment of venous insufficiency. 

In early 2017, he joined Texas Vein Experts. Since then Justin has immersed himself in the world of venous disease and has quickly become one of the more experienced PA’s in north Texas who treat venous disease. He gives full focus and attention to his patients and their outcomes are incredible.

Dr. Denny Thomas, MD

Received his Bachelors in Nursing from UT Arlington in 2007 and worked as an ICU nurse at Dallas Methodist for 4 years before pursuing medicine. He completed medical school training at Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tennessee which was followed by Emergency Medicine Residency in Oklahoma. He maintains a board certification through American Board of Emergency Medicine. 

Although he enjoyed Emergency Medicine, he grew a passion for treating underlying medical issues related to venous insufficiency. Dr. Thomas has been with Texas Vein Experts since 2020 and is committed to giving patients the best medical care for underlying venous pathology. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids. 

Morgan Goddard, FNP-C (1)

Morgan Goddard, FNP-C

Morgan has been working as a Nurse Practitioner since 2019. She graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2018 with a Masters of Science in Nursing, specializing in family medicine. She joined the team at Texas Vein Experts to help patients with chronic venous insufficiency and improve patients’ quality of life. She is determined to give patients the best medical care possible and thoroughly enjoys seeing patients for their pre-op and post-op care. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and cooking.

Rachell Sullivan

Rachell Sullivan, FNP-C

Rachell Sullivan is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received both her Bachelor’s degree and Masters degree in nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Rachell worked thirteen fulfilling years in various women’s health specialties as a registered nurse. Since obtaining her Nurse Practitioner degree in 2019; Rachell strives to deliver quality care to her patients.  

Rachell joined the team at Texas Vein Experts to support the needs of patients with venous disease. She enjoys caring and developing relationships with her patients from start to finish, assisting them in reaching their health and wellness goals.

Jesse Collier 3

Jesse Collier, FNP-C

Jesse joins our practice as a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, who received his Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. Although being a native Texan, Jesse’s healthcare career has taken him from coast to coast working in emergency and vascular access departments. 

Jesse prides himself on being very detail-oriented, dedicated to his practice, and to providing personal care to each patient he works with. In his downtime, Jesse enjoys designing and building furniture and art pieces, traveling, and spending time with his wife and son.
